Overview
CardTree Bookmarks is a Chrome extension that replaces the default new tab page with a card-tree bookmark manager. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
Data Collection
CardTree Bookmarks does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API.
Permissions
- bookmarks — Required to read, create, move, and delete your bookmarks.
- storage — Used to save your preferences (theme, display settings, trash items, search history, and last-used search engine) locally.
- favicon — Used to display website icons next to bookmarks.
- tabs — Used to open bookmarks in new tabs and track active tab state for visit counting.
- sessions — Used to show recently closed tabs on the new tab page.
Data Storage
All data remains on your device. No data is sent to any server, API, or third-party service. If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data is removed.
Engine search queries you submit are saved locally (up to 8 entries) to provide search history suggestions. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time via the “Clear search history” button in the search history dropdown.
Third-Party Services
On Chrome, this extension does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
On Firefox, website favicons are fetched via Google's favicon service (https://www.google.com/s2/favicons). This means the domain names of your bookmarks are sent to Google when favicons are loaded. No other data is transmitted.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

第三方服务
在 Chrome 上，本扩展不集成、不向任何第三方服务、分析平台或广告网络发送数据。
在 Firefox 上，网站图标通过 Google 的 favicon 服务（https://www.google.com/s2/favicons）获取。这意味着加载图标时，书签的域名会被发送至 Google。除此之外不会传输任何其他数据。
